I tested a lot of decks in my KoG run, but this is the one I chose for my 5-in-a-row. I want to give my thoughts on the other decks I tried first:

  1. Psychic: I loved this deck last meta, but it just couldn't keep up with Cydra's ability to pump out multiple 2100+ bodies per turn. I could high-roll into Melo:D + Prima to contest one turn, but be unable to kill because the Cydras have high stats. Then, Cydra would just pump out another wave of big bodies, clear my board, and make me pray to RNG to high-roll again (which pretty much never happened).
  2. HERO: This deck is just Talismanic-sack.dek. You need to draw Talismanic to really do anything noteworthy, especially against a board of multiple big monsters. This felt the worst of the bunch, but I'll admit it's cheap for anyone who needs an easy entry point to RUSH.
  3. Dragons: Dragiastar is a killing machine, but felt too inconsistent. The rest of the deck is pretty much just old Dragons. The deck's not bad, but Cydra has pretty much the same playstyle and is better.
  4. Cydra: This feels like the best deck by far. It's just too consistent and aggressive with 1-tribute 2400 turned 2900 beaters along with recursion from grave with Cyber Entry. Plus it gets to play AGG for cheesy piercing. I went on a stupid 10 game winstreak with Cydra from Gold 3 to 5. Maybe that Secret Order deck can match Cydra for Tier 1? I'm not sure, since I didn't buy the GO RUSH box, but Secret Order every turn did look strong whenever I faced it, plus some Rush veterans are rating it high.

In the end, I picked Spellcasters because it felt like the 2nd best of the decks I tried (Cydra is the best, but is monkey and boring). Plus, Spellcasters plays similar to Psychics, which I loved. I'd go so far to say Spellcasters is a more consistent Psychics now with its new skill. For what it's worth, I actually only fusioned like twice out of like 10 games? The deck is still very much Sevens Road beatdown, just with the occassional fusion clutch. But when you do fusion, it feels very fun.

Necroman and Siesta were very key. Necroman helped make sure Roadstar kept getting to the board. Siesta recycled any lost Sevens Road Magicians and let me pierce with Witch occassionally. I also tried Essel and Mystic Dealer, but Essel didn't feel consistent enough anymore to keep up with Cydra, and Mystic Dealer didn't feel high impact enough. All-Seeing Harvey seemed like a worthwhile tech, but I didn't want to spend on the new Selection Box.
