Notes & Combos

I reached KOG once again with Evil Eye, achieving my 6th consecutive KOG rank in Duel Links while exclusively using Evil Eye. I’m quite satisfied, since I can still use my favorite deck. The ratios are pretty much the same as last time, but I decided to run an additional copy of Basilius. I feel that having one more Basilius is better, since I have more chances of opening it compared to just one, as it extends my plays further. Additionally, I don’t need to recycle it with the Evil Eye field spell effect.

I also included Number 49: Fortune Tune in this format. Fortune Tune serves as a great wall and LP gainer. Since Seraph targets cards, Fortune Tune is the best Rank 3 to go for, providing strong protection that makes it difficult for opponents to remove. The only drawback is its mandatory recycling effect, which can be problematic if I want to keep my Familiar cards in the graveyard, as Fortune Tune shuffles them away. There are only a few times that I endboard with Zeminies, since I was concerned that it can easily be negated by 102 or Chalice.

I also considered using backrow removal cards again due to Seraph and Suship’s strong draw effects that often include backrow staples as part of their board. However, I opted not to include them and instead tried to play around these backrow staples more effectively. I was concerned about drawing backrow removal cards only to end up not using them, unlike Chalice and BOM, which have a higher chance of being useful. I encourage you to try using backrow removal cards over Chalice if you like, as Chalice is not very effective against Suships.
