You may be wondering "why not pure tri brigade with the new skill?". I'm not a fan of decks that lose to grind. After playing a few rounds of pure tri in ranked I felt the deck is really strong but too relient on shuraig. Once you stabilish your turn 1 board, you're fine but...if the opponent is able to remove it, then you're done. You used almost all your extra deck and the only links left is 1-2 shuraig and maybe an ancient warrior (if you didn't summon it turn one).
The old skill alongside lyrilusc gives you much more win con. Most of times you will defeat the opponent using birds or at least pass the turn with 3-4 interactions + guarantee next turn.
